1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of robot vacuum mop hybrids. This wet-dry model is equipped with Ecovacs' upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system uses dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space up to 32 feet across by the 270-degree angle. This results in more precise mapping, faster response times, and higher cleaning accuracy.
It also has a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub tough areas as opposed to traditional mops. In my testing the X2 Omni took just over an hour to wash its pad before getting to work, and I noticed it was much more accurate than other models that seemed to follow a grid path around rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms and also create "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water prior to beginning another cleaning task.
Like robot vacuum for dog hair , the X2 Omni is simple to set up and start using. Simply snap the dock into place then plug it in and connect it to your home WiFi network. It takes only about a minute. Then, you're able to launch the app and get started with your first task of cleaning. I was able to customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. The Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum and delivers impressive results in our tests on pet hair. It removed more than 96% of debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a fantastic performance. It also did a fantastic job with tile and carpet, removing over 99percent of dirt and debris.
This robot vacuum and mops comes with large docking systems that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool water for the mop pads. It also features an auto-emptying 3L bag that is easy to replace and hot air drying for fast and easy maintenance. It also has a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.
The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads when it is using them. It doesn't have a tray that can be removed, which means that dust, dirt and other grime will slowly build up in the bottom.
3. RoboVac X8 hybrid
This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It offers improved smarts, multiple map support, and LIDAR scanning, in addition to twin-turbine suction technology that automatically adapts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner however it doesn't exactly live up to its promise to be an all-in-one solution for floor cleaning.
The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape, sweeping wheels and an elevated area for sensors. However, flip it over there's an electric floor brush and one side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's 'mouth'. It's a bit smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to fit under chairs and sofas.
Its mapping system allows you to define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a habit of hitting objects, including its own charging station, and isn't the best at climbing over carpets. It was effective in picking up pet hair from bare floors. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.
Although it's controlled through the app it's also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base, which let you select a cleaning mode, and turn the robot off and on. These buttons can be used to create no-go areas and view real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty, and will let you know what it's planning to do next (start cleaning) or alert you when something isn't right.
4. ILIFE A4s
This model is high-tech and sucks up pet hair, kibble and other particles with top-quality performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It also comes with a remarkable feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It's Wi-Fi-connected and best controlled via the Neato app which allows cleaning to be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs be monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large hardwood floors and carpet, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by power cords, toys or other obstacles that might be unexpected.
In our hardwood floor and kibble tests the robot performed very well and picked up everything from one grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in just one pass. It had a bit of trouble transitioning to rugs, however, this vacuum cleaner is great for large rooms with different flooring types and a mix of pets.
The A4s Pro is expensive however it's a great option for those who wish to to leave the house with no hands on so they can do other things or take care chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to tackle difficult dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.
This budget-friendly robot from a popular new brand is the most affordable we've ever tested, and provides incredible value for money. Its navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm, and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This is why it's less effective as other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into the corners. And its mopping mode was very effective in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ may not be as sturdy however it is superior in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and floors that are not covered. It also uses intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It also lets you transfer it to a particular area, and its advanced suite of automation features includes no-go zones as well as scheduling. It allows you to suspend and resume cleaning, making it perfect for homes that have pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents tangles with pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying bagless dock station can store up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be cleaned. It comes with angled side brushes to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that collects dust, allergens and dander.
The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with an app for smartphones that lets you change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. You can utilize your voice to control the device using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you don't have either options, you can mark areas with physical boundary strips.
The iQ does a good job of clearing bare floors and does a decent job on shaggy and low-pile carpet however, it doesn't have the same degree of autonomy as our top picks. It's also costly and the cost of recurring use can increase.
